Why do wedding photos take up such a large chunk of our budget?

As a photographer, I am always looking at photographs. I love to flip through photo albums from my parents' childhood, peruse my elementary school yearbooks and ogle my wedding photos from last year. Of course, I also love to click through my past clients sessions and see how happy they are with their loved ones, or how they learned to be comfortable and confident in themselves while flying solo during one of our portrait sessions. As a photographer, I chat with clients about their budgets for their upcoming wedding photographs all the time.
