2017

I honestly can't believe how quickly time seems to fly the older I've gotten. Not that I think I'm old per-say, but as the years roll on, the faster they seem to pass.

2017 has been a great year with so many fun experiences. It has also been a year that has brought challenges, big and small, old and new.

In 2017 we worked, we played, we cried and we laughed. 2017 brought us a perfect, wonderful baby boy. Wyatt is seriously one of the brightest lights in my life. Becoming a mother has been wonderful and I'm grateful that with each passing day it seems to get easier and more fun. It was rough going for the first few weeks, with "baby blues" and sleepless nights. But now whenever Josh and I sit and look at the cute faces our baby makes, when we listen to his giggles I can't help but feel like we are a puzzle, each making the other whole.

We tried to do as many fun things as we could before I gave birth in July.
For Josh's 28th birthday we went to Santa Cruz for the weekend. We spent our time exploring the beach, looking for VWs in people's driveways and eating yummy food. We explored the Board Walk and relished in the new found knowledge that we were expecting a baby boy!

In April we went with my family on a spring break vacay to Palm Desert. It felt so good to escape the rain and spend some time in the sun with family.

In May Josh and I went to Bug O' Rama and sold lots of car parts and saw cool cars. It was basically Josh's version of Disneyland. We did end up camping out on a crappy air mattress in the bed of the truck...not my favorite part of the trip but definitely memorable. The things we pregnant wives do for our husbands. :)

In June I was able to fly down to San Juan Capistrano to reunite with my best friends for a girl's weekend. Three of us were preggo and it was just hilarious to parade around the beach getting sun burnt and tossed in the waves.

July brought us Wyatt and heatwaves. Thank goodness for AC and Netflix!

August brought our 2nd anniversary and my first real sushi after 9 months. I also turned 27, which I seriously never thought would happen. Haha.

In September after our Sea Ranch Labor day vacation we packed up all our stuff (so much stuff) and moved to Rexburg to go back to school at BYU-Idaho. It was definitely a change of pace, but for the best. I went through work withdrawals but it was nice to see Josh back at school and to branch off on our own again!

October was awesome because Wyatt and I got to leave the cold of Idaho and head out to Hawaii with my family. Poor Josh was stuck at home with school :( But Hawaii was amazing! Our days were full of surf, sun and sand. Wyatt loved the waves and life was good!

We were reunited with family and friends for Thanksgiving in November, always the best holiday!

December 1st brought snow and low temps. Wyatt's rosey winter cheeks are adorable! Christmas was great in Sunny CA and we were so blessed to spend time with family.

I'm so grateful for all that we've been through this year. Growing together as a family is what life is all about. We can't wait to ring in the new year and the new adventures to come.

My FREE Online Fitness Faves!

There are so many new fitness apps and fitness gurus out there. I've been wanting to try some of them but whenever I would click on their link to join, the monthly price was just too much for me to pull the trigger. Don't get me wrong, I may some day choose one because they are generally much cheaper than a gym membership and very effective programs. However, right now in our college, penny pinching phase of life saving money is key! I bought some $7 resistance loop/bands from amazon and pulled up YouTube to search for work outs and I came across 6 fitness channels that I LOVE! Being stuck inside with a toddler and pup during this FREEZING winter has made me feel like I'm majorly slacking on my fitness since we don't get out to walk/run much. These free fitness videos, tips and work outs have helped me feel so much more like myself this last month. So, if you're like me and you want to get more effective "in home workouts" without paying 20-something

HOW TO ROCK AT BEING BOTH A FUR MAMA & A BABY MAMA

I've always loved animals. As a kid I would beg my mom to let us have a dog; I would come up with chores to do as bargianing chips hoping that the trade would be enough to get a puppy for my birthday or for Christmas. I would collect animal fact cards & magazines & I loved to pour over encyclopedias of Dog Breeds. Later in life, as a newly wed, the incessant desire to have a dog of my own resurfaced. Josh and I would sit in bed and google puppy pictures of different breeds that I had been interested in over the years. October 24, 2015 was the day that everything fell into place when I found a flyer for Australian Shepherd puppies that were for sale in Elk Grove, CA. We came home that night with our sweet, fluffy puppy and named her Ruby Lou &  our lives have never been the same. So much joy, love and comfort fills our days that we spend running, hiking, swimming and snuggling with our sweet fur baby. These last (almost) 3 years have been awesome with her by our s
